Banner Retargeting Video: Following your prospects on the web

Banner Following: (aka: banner retargeting)

Video: Following your prospects on the web

Banner Followning (aka Retargeting or ReMarketing) is where your website visitor gets his PC "infected" with a cookie and thereafter only sees your banner on other websites.

The website he/she visits has to be a member of a network of wesbites that carry advertising. It is a very effective way of preventing your competitors from catching the attention of your potential customer/ prospect.

Basic idea of Banner Following: remind visitors of your offer when they are on other websites,
and pay only to advertise to those that had already visited your website.
Plus-side: you target interested people only
Minus-side: Google will charge you more for the privilege

Prices to do "Banner Following" vary according to what websites you want to emply. In Europe this type of advertising is still in its infancy. The US and Canada have seen this for a few years already. As such it is a hot item to get in to now for Europe, Middle and Far East. It could mean all the difference.

Your banner-ad gets additional exposure to customers and prospects who have already visited your website. You could say when you buy banner following, you are in effect following that prospect around on the web and showing your ad repeatedly. It makes it seem that "you are everywhere" for them.

Eventually it can help persuade them to come back and buy from you. As they have already expressed an interest (after all they did click on an ad of yours, otherwise they would have never gotten that cookie from you in the first place) these prospects just need a little more convincing. In many cases "more convincing" just means they need to see that your Brand is "around" more.

To go one step further you can show banner ads that repeat specifically what the searcher was looking for - this is called Dynamic banner retargeting.
